So I didn’t post a photo of the day yesterday either. Things have been just a little crazy the last few days. Last week Andrew had the week off of classes. And as I said earlier on Saturday my friend Kate came into town and we have been partying every day, until today when I dropped her off at the airport.
It has been so fun to catch up with her. Although, with two toddlers (who are still learning to share) and a baby, we wore out pretty quick!
Anyway, with things being out of wack the past week-ish, I find that I am excited to get myself back on routine. I have so much work I need to do, it’s a little overwhelming actually. I feel like I need to make a list!
It is funny that we are always so excited for a break or vacation, and while most of the time the vacation was fun and we are sad to leave it, I don’t know about you guys, but there is always a part of me that is relieved to go back to normal life. To the normal routine. There is just something about human nature that makes us crave routine. Some more than others. That is why family is so important. Because they become the routine in our lives. Work changes, school starts and ends, we graduate, we retire. But family (as long as we love and cherish them) will be there forever. And there is something about the routine of spending my days being with my kids and husband that just feels right. They are my home, and so is the every day life of cleaning messes, wiping faces, working on my computer and camera, making dinner, running errands, and everything else in between. That life is my routine. It’s not glamorous. It’s not a lie out in the sun with a virgin pina-colada (I don’t drink, haha) in my hand getting a tan. But I love it. Even more than the delicious taste of coconut, pineapple, and whatever else is in those things.
Happy Routine Days
